Aix-en-Provence is the sub-prefecture of the Bouches-du-Rhône department and has a population of 143,000. It is part of the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area. This urban area, which includes the city of Marseille – which is only 30 km to the south – is the largest in the southern Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and the third largest in France with more than 1.75 million inhabitants.
Aix-en-Provence is a thermal city founded by the Romans that has become a popular tourist and cultural destination. Its economy is essentially structured around the tertiary sector, education and administrative services. Aix is a young and student city and is certainly very dynamic! Its population is mainly composed of executives and intermediate professions.
Since our beginnings, 10 years ago, Drone-Pictures has put all its know-how at your service to produce aerial views by drone in Aix-en-Provence and its surroundings, such as the Sainte-Victoire mountain.

Since 2011, we have often flown our drones over the most beautiful streets and squares of the city, its emblematic monuments or some sumptuous private properties located in the Aix countryside.
Since 2014, we had the chance to be mandated by the Comité Régional du Tourisme PACA/Région Sud, for drone services in Aix-en-provence (and the whole Provence), and had filmed the Atelier de Cézanne, the Cloître Saint-Sauveur, the Pavillon Noir, the Pavillon Vendôme and the Grand Théâtre de Provence, as you can see in the video below.

Our most memorable experiences
Based in Marseille, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, for so many years, we have accumulated a fantastic stock of videos and aerial photos of Aix-en-Provence and the whole department. Whether it is for real estate developers like OGIC, or for a landscaping company like Groupe Genre which allowed us to fly over the gardens of the very luxurious Villa Saint-Ange, a 5* hotel in the heart of the city (see the video above). Among our most memorable experiences in Aix-en-Provence, let’s mention the France 3 special, Midi en France, which was held live from the city center and for which we filmed the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, the Place des Cardeurs, the Cours Mirabeau and the Roi René fountain, as well as the Rotonde roundabout and the Hôtel de Caumont, which opened its doors to us especially for the show!
Then, in June 2020, for SNCF Réseau and the NGE group, we made this film in Aix-en-Provence train station, as part of the modernization work on the Marseille – Gardanne – Aix-en-Provence line. This exceptional operation was also live streamed with images taken by drone.

As everywhere in France, taking pictures from a drone in Aix-en-Provence and in the south of France requires to respect very strict regulations, which first of all requires certified drone pilots registered with the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) as well as the use of approved, insured and well maintained drones.
