Sublime Marseille, our aerial series on a unique city!

Here are all the Sublime Marseille episodes, as well as the videos we have produced on the city of Marseille since 2016.

Our Marseille is truly Sublime!

Since 2011, we’ve accumulated hundreds of hours of drone footage, and thousands of aerial shots, showing Marseille from all angles, at all times and in all seasons.
That’s how we came up with the idea of putting together some of our aerial video footage, 100% of Marseille!

Without being in any way chauvinistic (!), we’re convinced that this city is so beautiful from the air!

Sublime Marseille is a love letter to our city. It’s a militant act, almost, to put the lie to all those who denigrate it and find it dirty, ugly and inhospitable.
Through our images of Marseille’s most beautiful monuments and must-see sites, we hope to help change the way people look at and prejudge a city that leaves no one indifferent.

Surely, from above, everything is more beautiful.
Sure, the city is full of faults.
But it also has a lot (too much) of quality, secret corners, tongue-in-cheek humour, surprises, jealously guarded paradises, and so on…

So, yes, because we love our city and because it has changed so much over the last few years, sometimes for the worse, often for the better, we’ve never stopped trying to show it from the perspective we know so well: under the sun, of course, because it’s where he lives (!), under the azure blue sky, with the sea everywhere, boats in every direction, tourist spots as well as the most remote or little-known districts, all bursting with beauty, character and an invitation to discover them!

This series, which has always been carried out on our own initiative, has enabled us to build up a considerable amount of drone footage.
Many of these video clips, shot in 4, 5 and even 6K, have been illustrating the city since 2015. Some of the older footage has archive value, and is available for your audiovisual projects in the HOsiHO collection, the World from Above, a platform from which you can license this footage for commercial or editorial use, whether as part of a feature film, documentary, news report or even advertising.

Marseille as seen by our drones, since 2011!

Here are all the episodes of our Sublime Marseille series, as well as some drone videos we’ve edited for various occasions, such as the big lockdown in spring 2020, or the visit of Pope Francis to Marseille in 2023. Let yourself be carried away by the music and admire this city, its fabulous light, its great diversity, and its coastline stretching 30 kilometres along the Mediterranean Sea.

Enjoy your trip!

All our drone videos dedicated to Marseille !

While waiting for the next Opuses, here are the first episodes of Sublime Marseille, as well as the drone video shot during the first lockdown – Silence, Marseille Under Lockdown – and a video of some of our best images of the Bonne-Mère church, the Vélodrome stadium and the Pharo Palace, welcoming Pope François in September 2023.

Sublime Marseille (Opus 4)

Special Sunset – Fourth Opus of Sublime Marseille – September 2024

An episode focused solely on the magical moment of dusk.

A time of golden hours, warm lights, latest rays of daylight, long, well-spread shadows, the incandescence of landscapes and monuments, the beginning of the night, between Dogs and Wolves.  In short, Marseille sublimated by the Sunset, these never identical, always surprising sun settings, filmed by our drones between April 2020 and May 2024!

Find out more about Opus 4 and visit the gallery of the locations flown over by drone.

Sublime Marseille (Opus 3)

Third Opus of Sublime Marseille – January 2024

Seven years after the second Opus, here’s the 3rd episode of our Sublime Marseille series, launched in 2016 and dedicated to fans of Marseille, wherever they may be on Earth!

With this Opus 3, we bring you the beauty of a city we’re passionate about, and that we actually fell in love with over 30 years ago. We know we’re not alone, and this aerial visual ode to France’s most beautiful city (at least!) won’t go unnoticed!

Visit the page dedicated to this Opus 3 and see the gallery of sites overflown to put a name to each location!

Sublime Marseille (Opus 2)

Here is the second part of our aerial production in Marseille seen by our drones, shot in 4K between February 2016 and April 2017 and put online in May 2017!

This time it is a question of discovering from above, from sunrise to sunset, part of the sumptuous maritime facade of Marseille, on the Mediterranean sea side: from the port of the Goudes, to the Estaque, via the islands of Friuli, the Corniche Kennedy, the Catalans, the Palais du Pharo, the Prado and its beaches as well as the GPMM, in other words the autonomous port of the city and its offshore dike!

Sublime Marseille (Opus 1)

First Opus of Sublime Marseille – February 2016.

At the release of this first episode of Sublime Marseille, the clip totaled more than 100,000 views on all our social networks! Suffice to say that it boosted us well for the rest of the year!

This first opus is a compilation of our production of 4K aerial images made since the end of 2015 on the monuments and essential sites of the Phocaean city. A project of our own initiative and which will lead to the exhaustive shooting of all neighborhoods, and in all seasons. This shooting will take place throughout 2016. These unique images of illustration of the new trendy tourist destination that Marseille has become, are produced for the HOsiHO collection, the World seen from above, a platform from which it is possible to acquire these sequences for commercial or editorial use.

Silence, Marseille Under Lockdown!

Covid hits the entire planet in 2020. Rather than undergoing lockdown, we decide to make images of our city. Thus, this moving and touching film was born. We dedicate it, again and again, to people who, every day, are on the front line, taking risks to treat us and run this city, which even in slow motion, remains no less beautiful in many aspects.

Drone-Pictures has surveyed Marseille, from the city center to the Prado beaches, since the beginning of the lockdown, striking day after day, on the ground and in the air, empty squares, fluid highways, closed shopping centers, streets and avenues usually crowded, now almost deserted.

Time is as if suspended. These images are chilling, like the way out of a bad movie. But, and this is all the paradox, they are beautiful, striking, and sublimated by an insolent spring light. As if to taunt the confined Humans that we were then.

An invisible virus has turned the World upside down. Like others, we wanted to keep a visual record of his passage over our city. For those who can’t see it this way. For the record, because these moments are undeniably historical. See all the images related to Covid19 on HOsiHO.

Welcome to Marseille Pope Francis!

See how our city is Sublime with our video postcard!

We (re)released our most beautiful drone images of the Good Mother, the Vélodrome stadium and the Pharo to welcome Pope Francis. So many sites where he visited on 22 & 23/09/2023 and that we so often flew over to film them by drone.

So, on this occasion, more than ever, Marseille rhymes with Belle, Soleil and Spirituelle!

And we’re showing it with this video!
