DRONE & GROUND SHOOTING for TOTAL Energies in Clermont-Ferrand !

After Valence and Avignon, it is the third time that Total Energies entrusts us with this type of mission. Thus, mid-April 2022, thanks to a mild weather that was not easy to arrange, we took pictures and videos by drone and on the ground of the new TOTAL Energies refueling station at the airport of Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme, far away from our base in Marseille!

The Mavic 3 Cine has perfectly fulfilled its mission, still thanks to the 4/3 sensor and the 2x and 7x zoom.

The most complicated in this type of mission is to obtain the authorizations from the airport and then the green light from the Control Tower, which always depends on the current or expected air traffic.

This time, we had to wait 90 minutes before being able to make the first of the 4 flights necessary to cover the different angles and installations that the customer wanted us to film by drone.

Luck was also there with the sun and especially the passage of a helicopter of the Samu63 for provisioning, as well as four helicopters of the Belgian army remained on the tarmac but which were provisioned by one of the trucks tanker of Total Energies.

Thanks to the 7x zoom of the M3C we were able to shoot close-ups of these actions without flying over areas impossible on an active airport.

In addition, the customer wanted some views of the city and cathedral of Clermont-Ferrand with the Puy-de-Dôme in the background. This was possible at an altitude of 50 meters from the Total Energies station at the airport, always thanks to the 160mm telephoto lens present on this small drone (the 7x zoom!), which with time has become our main drone for this type of mission. A real Swiss Army knife, in short!
